Ida Mae Cain Jackson, age 75, of Elizabethtown, NC passed away on March 25, 2023 while at UNC Southeastern in Lumberton, NC. She was preceded in death by her parents, Vann David Cain and Mary Elizabeth Bedsole Cain, her husband Dreyfuss Jackson, and one sister, Paula Jones Morales. Left to cherish her memory are son William Darin Jackson (Annette) of Lisbon, two daughters Tina Boussias (George) of Elizabethtown, and JoAnn Collins (Scott) of Dublin, five grandchildren, Kyrie Thompson (Brandon) of Elizabethtown, Samantha Heustess (Lonnie) of White Oak, Rocky Boussias (Kaci), Stefani Boussias of Elizabethtown, and Evan Boussias of Elizabethtown and eight great grandchildren Piper, Xander, Kennedy, Beckett, Charleigh Rose, Lennox, Giorgio, and Rocky James.
Ida cherished her family and her church, the Life Church. She had a great love for children, and they adored her. She went back to school late in life and received a degree in Childhood Development. She owned and operated a daycare facility, Mimi’s Munchkins, until her health would not let her. Ida, although retired from her business, still helped her daughter Tina at Yia Yia’s. She will be eternally remembered for the love and generosity she so eagerly shared with everyone she came in contact with.
The family will receive friends from 12-1:00 pm on Friday, March 31, 2023 at Bladen Gaskins Funeral Home in Elizabethtown followed by a funeral service at 1:00 pm with the Reverend Lacey Norris officiating. Burial will follow the services in the Tatum Grimes Cemetery in Tar Heel.
