Alma Kelly

Mrs. Alma P. Kelly passed away on Wednesday, January 25, 2017 at age 94 while residing at Lumberton Health and Rehabilitation Center in Lumberton, NC. She was the daughter of David James and Mary Bell Pait of Bladenboro, NC. She and her husband, George Washington Kelly, Jr. of 58 years before his passing were blessed with four (4) surviving children: Judith Anne Jones (Jerry) of Counce, TN, Phyllis Gail Allen (Greg) of Lumberton, NC, George Barry Kelly (Donna) of Greensboro, NC and Stephen Randolph (Randy) Kelly (Randi) of Salemburg, NC. They were the love of her life.

She is also survived by her sister Wilma White of Bladenboro, NC six grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.

Alma was a longtime member of Lennon's Cross Road Baptist Church where she was extremely active with a special love of missions.
As a teacher's assistant for over 20 years in the Bladen County School System she enjoyed seeing students develop and excel in their education. Activities included band chaperone, cheerleader sponsor and school booster in many ways.
She was an avid reader and spent many hours in this pleasure. She never forgot her love of flowers and her beautiful yard. Her children once said, "Mother talks to the flowers." A remark she never denied.

The family will receive friends from 1-2 pm on Sunday, January 29, 2017 at Lennon's Crossroads Baptist Church in Evergreen followed by a funeral service at 2 pm. Burial will follow the services in the Singletary Cemetery in Bladenboro.
