Ann Sloan

Ann Massengill Sloan, 96, Bladenboro, NC, formerly of Raleigh, died Wednesday, March 1, 2006 at Elizabethtown Nursing Center.



She was a longtime member of Forest Hills Baptist Church. She graduated from The Methodist Orphanage School in 1929 and attended Kings Business College. She was very active in the Methodist Orphanage Alumni. She worked for the North Carolina Department of Revenue for a number of years and also Mitchell Distributing Company in Raleigh for many years.



She was the daughter of the late William Robert Massengill and Susan Stanley Massengill. She was predeceased by her husband, Hugh Sloan and a son, Hugh Sloan, Jr.



She is survived by daughter Pat Hasbrouck and husband Jon of Bladenboro, four grandchildren and seven great grandchildren.



The memorial service will be held at 10:30 p.m. Saturday, March 4, at First Baptist Church, Bladenboro. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service, 9:30 until 10:15 a.m. at First Baptist Church, Bladenboro. The burial will be in Montlawn Cemetery, Raleigh at 3:00 p.m.
