Anna Rose Watts Barnhill, 41, of Clarkton died Saturday, January 2, at UNC Chapel Hill Hospital.
She was born December 30, 1968 in Columbus County Hospital, the daughter of Rosa Lee Horne Watts and the late D.G. Watts.
Anna was an active member of Clarkton Baptist Church and a dedicated teacher at East Bladen High School where she was devoted to all of her students.
Anna received a liver through transplant on July 7, 2009. Throughout her struggles with complications, Anna remained steadfast and strong in her faith. She was an example of love and compassion to all who knew her.
She is survived by her husband of 21 years Tim Barnhill of Clarkton; a son Dennis Barnhill and daughter Lindsey Barnhill of the home; her mother, Rosa Lee Watts of Clarkton; two sisters Glenda Dove and husband Clyde of Bladenboro, and Ava Arp and husband Timmy of Clarkton; and several special nieces and nephews.
The Family will receive friends on Monday, January 4, 2010 from 6:00 to 8:00 PM at Clarkton First Baptist Church. Funeral services will be held Tuesday, January 5, 2010 at 3:00 PM at Clarkton First Baptist Church with Dr. Larry Pittman and Rev. Roy Walker officiating. Burial will follow in the Mt. Zion Baptist Church Cemetery.
