Annie Johnson was called home to be with the Lord on April 15, 2012. She was fortunate enough to spend her final days in the presence of her children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and closest friends: Annie was born March 12, 1939, in Hartwell, Georgia, to the late Thomas and Clara Barnes.
In her younger days she loved fishing with friends and family, planting flower and vegetable gardens, and cooking for her friends and family. Annie was loved and cared for by many and never failed to offer help to others. In her later years, she enjoyed dancing with family to James Brown and the Supremes, playing with her great grandchildren, and traveling to visit family and friends.
Annie loved being in church and consistently rejoiced in praising God. She was a beautiful person inside and out, and there wasn\\'t a person around her that wasn\\'t affected by her generosity and graciousness.
She is survived by her children; Kawana Bacon (Charles Bacon), Thomas (Chuck) Cade (Tracy Slaughter Cade), Tony Barnes, Teresa Carter, Ramona Carter, Bobbie Carter, Bobby Johnson, Jr.(Shelby Johnson), 10 grandchildren, 7 great-grandchildren, two siblings, Morolene Lomax (James Lomax) of Elberton, Georgia, and Joe Barnes (Mary Barnes) of Washington, DC and two close cousins Elizabeth Powell and Hester Mitchell, both of Washington, DC., along with a host of nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends Saturday, April 21, 10:00AM-11:00AM at Center Baptist Church. Services will follow at 11:00 AM with Rev. Singletary officiating.
\\"You gave your heart to many, even to those of us who did not see how beautiful it is. Sleep sweet angel, and we will see you soon.\\"
Your Loving Son Tony Barnes
