Annie Merle "Banny" Sykes, 76, of Bladenboro, passed away on Friday, January 12, 2018. She was preceded in death by her husband: Luke "Bill" Sykes; daughter: Delores "Effie" Strickland, granddaughter: Leighann Richardson, parents: Taft and Ruby Edwards Guyton, brother: Prentice Guyton. Annie is survived by son: Greg Sykes of Bladenboro (Amanda), daughter: Lynn S. Hester of Butters, sister: Belita Green (Dewey); grandchildren: Brian Strickland (Heather), Sherri Hester, Eric Strickland (Jennifer), Blake Sykes (Monica), Kaitlyn Sykes; great-grandchildren: Jenny Richardson, Brook Strickland, Nathan Strickland, Wesley Strickland, Christian Strickland, DeeDee Strickland, Colin Elkins, Gavin Strickland, Rachel Strickland, Maci Sykes and great-great grandson: Ashton Meares.
Banny enjoyed to cook for everyone and to garden in her yard. She treasured her family and would do without so others could receive. She will be missed dearly.
The family will receive friends at 2pm on Monday, January 15, 2018 at Butters Baptist Church Fellowship Hall. A funeral service will be held at 3pm in the church with Rev. Anthony Rich and Rev. Dewayne Lambeth officiating service. Burial will follow in Singletary Cemetery in Butters.
