Annie Gertrude Tatum, 90, of Elizabethtown went to be with the Lord on Saturday, December 3, 2016. She was preceded in death by her parents Eddie and Lida Bordeaux; husbands: Harvey Tatum, Craven Norris, Ladell Tatum; sisters: Carolyn Bordeaux, Selma Blanton, Janet Spearman; brothers: Nathan Bordeaux, Leo Bordeaux and granddaughter, Pam Bryan.
She is survived by four daughters: Bonnie Bryan (Willerdane) of Bladenboro, Hazel Hammond (Dallas) of Elizabethtown, Elizabeth McMahon (John) of White Lake, Janice Yarbrough of Augusta, GA; three sons: Harvey "Buddy" Tatum (Ann) of Broadway, Vernon Norris (Darlene) of Elizabethtown, Thomas Norris of Wilmington; two sisters: Katie Wells of Teachy, Lois Smith of Kenansville; two brothers: Adolphus Bordeaux of Rocky Point and Floyd Bordeaux of Kenansville. Eight grandchildren, fourteen great-grandchildren, several nieces and nephews, and a very special friend Elbert Sasser.
Annie was a very loving mother and loved others with a kind heart. Her favorite cake was a Kentucky pound cake which she served many as they visited her home. She loved going to church and was there as much as possible. Gardening was also a favorite with the many vegetables gathered, and her flowers were beautiful. Her grandchildren were the apple of her eye and she will be missed by many.
The family will receive friends on Monday, December 5, 2016 from 12-1:45pm at Bladen-Gaskins Funeral Home in Elizabethtown with funeral service at 2pm. Rev. Wade Hall and Rev. Bruce Brumfield will be officiating services. Burial will follow in the Elizabethtown Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Lower Cape Fear Hospice 206 Warrior Trail, Whiteville, NC 28472.
