Austin Lennon McLean

Austin Lennon McLean was born June 11, 1992, in Robeson County, NC to Ronnie McLean and Sarah Lennon Baysden. Austin was employed with Lee Electrical & Power Line Construction in Aberdeen, NC. Austin enjoyed a vast array of hobbies but none more than hunting and fishing with family and friends. He had a zeal for life, never meeting a stranger and always wearing a big smile.   He was a big piece of our heart, and he will be dearly missed.  Austin passed away Friday, March 22, 2024, at the age of 31.

Austin was preceded in death by his maternal grandfather Bobby Lennon and paternal grandparents Henry Clyde and Pearl McLean.  His cousins Kevin Conner and Tiffany McLean also preceded him in death.  Austin is survived by his mother Sarah Baysden (Delbert) of Bladenboro, NC; father Ronnie McLean (Angie) of Bladenboro, NC; maternal grandmother Sue Lennon of Bladenboro, NC; sister Camillia Worley (Bryson) of Clinton, NC; stepsister Danielle Hunt (Alex) of Winterville, NC; stepbrother Blake Baysden (Meghan) of Supply, NC; nieces Gracyn, Anna Kate, Mary Claire, Blakelyn and nephew Steele.  Austin also leaves behind a large extended family, cousins, aunts, uncles and many lifelong friends that include his best “dog” friend, Lizzie and close friend Nicole Peddicord.

The family will receive friends and loved ones prior to the service on Friday, March 29, 2024, from 2:00-3:00 PM at New Light Church, 307 Chestnut Street in Bladenboro, NC.  Following the visitation, a service will be held at 3:00 PM with Rev. Dale Hester, Rev. Cory Nance and Rev. Quentin Boyce officiating. A graveside burial will conclude the service at Galeed Baptist Church cemetery on Galeed Church Road, Bladenboro, NC.
