Barbara Cain

Barbara Jean Harris Cain, age 80, of Elizabethtown passed away at her home on Wednesday, September 21, 2022. She was born in Bladen County on December 14, 1941 to the late George Harris and Ruth Perry Harris.

Barbara leaves behind three sons, Steve Cain of Elizabethtown, Chester Cain (Mary) of Delco, and Alan Cain (Lisa) of Advance, brother Alex Harris of Clarkton, sister Carolyn Davis of Elizabethtown, three grandchildren Jason Cain (Courtney), Bradley Cain (Dawn), and Samantha Cain, three great grandchildren Rylie Cain, Bailey Cain and Lynlee Cain, and a special friend Bonnie Spell. She was preceded by her parents and her son, Gregory Cain.

Barbara was a loving mother, grandmother, and friend. She adored her sons and her grandchildren and loved cooking for them, especially at Thanksgiving. Barbara enjoyed fishing, planting flowers, and watching the birds in her garden eat. Above all else, Barbara enjoyed telling others what to do. Her boys could always depend on her keeping them in line. She left a legacy of love, laughter and good times to be remembered always.

A funeral service will be held at 1:00 pm on Sunday, September 25, 2022, at the Bladen Gaskins Funeral Home Chapel in Elizabethtown. Burial will follow the services in the Bladen Memorial Gardens Cemetery in Elizabethtown.
