Bennett Thomas

Alton "Bennett" Thomas, 75, of Elizabethtown passed away on December 11, 2012 at Southeastern Regional Medical Center.



Mr. Bennett was born on August 2, 1937 to the late John Douglas and Mary Merritt Thomas. He is preceded in death by his brother, Albert Thomas and was in the United States Air Force.



The family will receive friends on Wednesday, December 12, at Bladen-Gaskins Funeral Home from 6: 00 until 8:00 pm.



Funeral services will be held on Thursday, December 13, 2012 at 2:00pm at Trinity United Methodist Church with Rev. Jay Winston and Rev. Patrick Murphy officiating. Burial will follow in the Old Trinity Cemetery.



Mr. Bennett is survived by his wife, Sylvia Owen Thomas of the home; two daughters, Marla Dee Thomas of the home; and Djuana Thomas Register and husband Jerry Lee Register of Elizabethtown; two brothers, John Thomas and Harold Thomas both of White Lake; his sister, Willia Dean Butler of Elizabethtown and two grandchildren, Erin Trobaugh and Caroline Register.
