Benny Britt

Benny Earl Britt, 57, of 6855 Twisted Hickory Road, Elizabethtown, went to be with our Lord on Thursday, December 14, 2006 while at Columbus Regional Healthcare in Whiteville, NC.

Benny was a member of Shady Grove Baptist Church for 36 years, where he served as a deacon.

He served in the Army National Guard for 12 years reaching rank of E5 Sergeant.

He was employed with Federal Paper Board of Riegelwood for 16 years.

After graduation from C & C Tractor Trailer Training Center in August 2003, he pursued a career in long-haul trucking with Werner and eventually concluded his career with Murphy Brown Trucking of Smithfield Food Company.

Benny is predeceased by his mother and father, Vera and Murdock Britt.

He is survived by his wife, Rosa L. Britt, one son, Teddy D. Britt and his wife Jennifer of Raleigh, 3 brothers, Clyde Britt and wife, Bessie, of Bladenboro, Dale Britt and wife, Glenda, of Bladenboro, and Henry Britt and wife, Betty, of Columbus, Ohio, one sister Aline Priest of Elizabethtown.

A funeral service is planned for 2:00 p.m. Sunday at Shady Grove Baptist Church with the Rev. Michael Skinner and Rev. Bruce E. Cannon officiating.
