Benny Smith

Benny Ray Smith, age 55, passed away at Cape Fear Valley Medical Center in Fayetteville on Thursday, December 11, 2014. Born on August 14, 1959 in Fayetteville, he made a home in many places before settling in White Lake with his family. He owned his own business, Professional Paint & Plaster, which he founded in 1986.

Survivors include his wife of 35 years, Billie Smith of the home, his daughter, Amanda Smith and fiance Henry Jacobs of White Lake; his son Daniel and wife Brittany Smith of White Lake; extended family, Tuesday and Derek Jefferson; and Brad Sessoms; his mother, Nelva Fahrback of Somerset KY; Erika Lawson of Elizabethtown; Scarlette and husband Brian Jasper of Somerset KY; Melaine Fahrback-Staats and husband Dustin of Phoenix, AZ; Warren Fahrback Jr. of Washington State and loving grandchildren, nieces, nephews and great nieces and nephews. Ben was preceded in death by his father, R.B. Smith. He will be remembered for his generosity, sense of humor and love of basketball and UNC Tar Heels.

The family will receive friends on Saturday, December 13, 2014 from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Bladen-Gaskins Funeral Home.
