Bernice Jackson

Bernice Bass Jackson, 88, peacefully went home to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, on December 6, 2017. The youngest of 15 children to the late Lonnie and Fannie Bass, Bernice was born September 12,1929.

Bernice is preceded in death by her dear husband of 45 years, John Winford Jackson and her son, James Dennis Jackson.

Bernice is survived by three sons and daughters in law, John and Chris Jackson, of Cary, NC; Joe and Marie Jackson, of Bladenboro, NC; Mike and Teresa Jackson, of Bladenboro, NC. Five grandchildren, Anthony Jackson, of Bladenboro, NC; Andrea Jackson Swink (Darin), of Greensboro, NC; Phillip Cathcart (Shelley), of Cary, NC; Shelly Jackson Ryan (Sean), of Wendell, NC; Jonathan Cathcart, of Montreal, Canada. Ten great grandchildren: Clay Jackson, Morgan Jackson, AJ Jackson, Jackson Ryan, Kate Ryan, Mary Lacy Swink, Jackson Cathcart, James Cathcart, Nora Cathcart, and Carson Ryan.

The family will receive friends from 1:30-3:00pm at Center Road Baptist Church in Bladenboro on Friday, December 8, 2017 followed by a funeral service at 3:00pm officiated by her dear Pastor, J. Vernon Britt, and Rev. Cameron McGill. Burial will follow the services in the New Pait Cemetery.
