Betty Bridger

Betty Fletcher Bridger, 81, of Bladenboro passed away Thursday, September 19, 2013. She was born on November 2, 1931 to the late James Carlisle (J.C.) and Sara Catherine Fletcher. She graduated with honors from UNC Pembroke in 1973.
Mrs. Bridger is survived by her husband Charles Iceman Bridger of the home, four daughters: Catherine Burns and husband Robert of Shelby, NC, Susan Ricks and husband Walter of Raleigh, Elaine Mebane and husband Bill of Raleigh, and Patricia Weeks and husband Howard of Spring Hope; one son Charles I. Bridger Jr. and wife Colleen, nine grandchildren: Clay Burns and wife Renee, Chris Burns, Hunter Ricks, Fletcher Mebane, Kemp Mebane, Clarke Weeks, Kate Weeks, Sarah Bridger, and Charlie Bridger; and two great grandchildren: Carter and Tyler Burns.
A Service of Thanksgiving celebrating her life will be held Sunday, September 22, 2013 at 3:00 pm at First Baptist Church in Bladenboro with Rev. Burt Young and Rev. Kevin Kinlaw officiating. The family will receive friends after the service in the church fellowship hall.
