Betty Flower

Our Mom, Betty Long Flower, 80 of Florida, formerly of Tar Heel, passed away on Monday, August 28, 2017. She is preceded in death by her parents, James and Mae Long; her husband, Robert "Bob" Flower; daughter, Debbie Jones and son-in-law, Rick Packer. She was courageous to the end. Her final wishes were simple. She wanted to die with dignity like her mother. Betty wanted her children with her, for her grandchildren and great grandchildren to know just how much she loved them and for her final resting place to be with her family and love ones in North Carolina.

Our world may be a littler darker today, but we're sure the precious light of Mom's memory will brighten and sustain us in the days to come. We love you mom and are so grateful for the times we shared with you.

She is survived by two sons, Russell Wilson and wife Valerie of Orlando, Fl.; Albert Wilson and wife Sheri of Lakeland, Fl.; daughter, Sharon Packer of Shinglehouse, Pa.; four brothers: James "Bobo" Long and Huey Long, both of Tar Heel; Dwight "Pete" Long of Bladenboro; and Jimmy Long of Grays Creek; five sisters, Patsy Horn, Millie Long and Elaine Smith, all of Tar Heel; Judy Hubbard of Grays Creek and Phyllis Riley of Lumberton; thirteen grandchildren and twenty-one great grandchildren.

The family will receive friends and family at the home of Lenny and Elaine Smith. A memorial service will be held at a later date.
