Betty Strickland

Mrs. Betty Herring Strickland, 77, of Garner entered in eternal rest Wednesday, September 24, 2008.

Mrs. Strickland was born in Sampson County to James Campbell and Elzora Honeycutt Herring.

She was a founding member and ordained deacon of Triangle Baptist Church of Raleigh. She was a retired State Employee of NC.

Mrs. Strickland was preceded in death by her husband, James \\"Lloyd\\" Strickland; her parents, James Campbell Herring and Elzora Honeycutt Herring; six sisters and three brothers.

Mrs. Strickland is survived by two sons, Jimmy Strickland and wife Susan of Fuguay Varina and Donald Strickland and wife Sharon of Apex; two daughters, Sandra Bass and husband Al of Rocky Mount and Susan Kornegay and husband Jeff of Elizabethtown; one brother, Bishop Herring of Virginia; eight grandchildren, Dustin, Alexandra, Cameron, Sara, Aaron, Tyler, Lauren and Steven.

The family will receive friends Saturday prior to the service from 12:00 to 1:30pm at the church. The funeral will be Saturday, September 27, 2008 at 2:00pm at Triangle Baptist Church in Raleigh.
