Betty Lou Guyton Thompson, 81, of Bladenboro, passed away on Friday, May 21, 2021. She was preceded in death by her parents, Sollie and Lemmie Guyton; husband, Vernon Lee Thompson; three brothers: Miller, Clyde and Wilton Guyton; five sisters: Louise Pait, Julia Pait, Ruby Ward, Doris Ammons and Eunice Butler.
Betty leaves behind two sons: Chris Thompson and wife Donna of Fort Mill, SC, Clifton Thompson of Bladenboro; two daughters: Veronica Hester and husband Leroy of Bladenboro, Regina Drake and husband Jason of Eastover; ten grandchildren: Adam, Alicia, Allyson, Britney, Carolyn, Matthew, Morgan, Sidney, Austin, Shannon; nine great-grandchildren: Kassidy, Bristol, Aleigha, Paislee, Lawson, Weston, Kyle, Jackson and Jaylyn.
Betty was a genuine, compassionate lady who loved gospel singings and testifying about Jesus. Always providing for her family and others. Her sweet and kind spirit will be greatly missed but not forgotten.
The family will receive friends at 11am on Monday, May 24th at Pleasant Grove Church in Bladenboro with a funeral service at 12pm. Rev. Charleston Guyton will officiate the service. Burial will follow services in the Community Baptist Church Cemetery in Bladenboro.
The family welcomes flowers or donations may be given to the Alzheimer’s Association 225 N. Michigan Ave., Fl. 17, Chicago, IL 60601.
