Betty Williams

Ms. Betty J. Williams was born in Harnett County on February 8, 1937 to Alice Porter Williams and John E. Williams.



She left her earthly home on December 7, 2008 to go and be with her Lord.



She was predeceased by her mother and father, her sisters, Mildred Williams and Fonda Whaley and one brother, James Williams.



She leaves behind her daughters, Deborah Melvin Bryant and husband,Bobby of Hope Mills; Brenda Melvin Davis and husband,Bunk of Bladenboro; Alberta Melvin Smith and husband,Gene of Lumberton. She is also survived by a sister, Joyce W. Dahlstron of Fayetteville and three brothers, John Harvey Williams of Fayetteville, Robert P. Williams of Florida and Albert L. Williams of Fayetteville. She leaves behind seven grandchildren and seven great grandchildren.



Visitation will be held Tuesday, December 9, 7 to 9 pm, at Pleasant Grove Methodist Church.



A memorial service will be held Wednesday, December 10, 2008 at 2:00pm at Pleasant Grove Methodist Church with Rev. Beverly Fitzgerald and Rev. Willie Allen officiating. A one hour visitation before the service will be observed.
