Mr. Bill Clark, 85, of Clarkton entered into eternal rest on Tuesday, May 18, 2010.
Mr. Clark was preceded in death by his wife, Dorothy Clark, his parents, George and Margaret McDuffie Clark; two sisters, Daisy and Margaret Clark and two brothers James and Alexander Clark.
Mr. Clark attended NC State before entering into the Army/ Air Corps; He was a WWII Veteran serving in the 2018 Ordinance in the Pacific. He was a farmer and retired from the US Postal service in Clarkton. Mr. Clark was a charter member and founder of the Clarkton Rescue Squad. He was also on the Clarkton Fire Dept. He was an active member of the Clarkton Lions Club and the Choir at Clarkton Presbyterian Church. He also served as a deacon, elder and Sunday School Superintendent. He served as chairman on the Brown Marsh Church Management Board.
The family will receive friends on Thursday, May 20, 2010 from 7:00 until 9:00 pm at Bladen-Gaskins Funeral Home.
Funeral services will be held on Friday, May 21, 2010 at 3:00 pm at Clarkton Presbyterian Church with Rev. Steuart Link officiating. Burial will follow in the Clarkton Cemetery.
Mr. Clark is survived by two sons; Stewart Clark and wife Lynn of Clarkton; Stephen Clark and wife Tillie of Elizabethtown and a daughter, Katherine Clark of Charlotte; two grandchildren; Mary Katherine and Will Clark.
