Billie Faye Cain Lewis of Bladenboro went to her eternal home on Saturday, May 25, 2024. She was born in Bladenboro, NC on November 10, 1947 to William Curtis and Evelyn Cain. She was preceded in death by her parents, her brother, William Curtis (Sam) Cain Jr., and her beloved husband of 54 years, Robert James ( Jimmy) Lewis Jr.
Growing up she had a passion for dancing and art. As a teacher, she enjoyed making bulletin boards and art projects. She liked to crochet and spend time with her family. Her grandsons were her heart. She was an avid reader and could entertain herself with a good book. She also enjoyed games shows. She taught school for 34 years in Bladen County and Whiteville. After graduating from Bladenboro High School, she received a BA from the University of North Carolina at Greensboro. She completed a Master of Education at Appalachian State University.
Left to cherish her memories are her daughter, Mary Beth Ivey (Zach), her son, Robert James Lewis III (Andrea); two grandsons, Anthony Milano and Austin Lewis. She also leaver her sister, Donna Kelly (Barry), sister -in-law Pam Cain cousin, Nicky Carter (Susan) and many wonderful friends.
The family will line up at 3:00pm at Bladen-Gaskins Chapel in Bladenboro Sunday, June 2, 2024, and proceed to Lewis Cemetery in Bladenboro for a 3:30pm graveside service with Rev. O'Neil Parker officiating.
A special "Thank you", to Lower Cape Fear LifeCare Center and Stacie Thompson for all your love, care, and support that you gave our mother during her sickness. Your kindness and generosity will never be forgotten.
The family will receive friends starting Tuesday, May 28., 2024 at the home of Mary Beth Ivey 10850 Center Road. Bladenboro, NC.
