Billy Ray Fowler, 71, of Clarkton passed away on December 19, 2023, while at UNC Southeastern Hospital in Lumberton. He was born August 1, 1952, to the late Venoia Fowler and Martha Small Fowler.
He is survived by his beloved wife of 53 years, Barbara “Flossie” Fores Fowler, of the home, two sons Robbie Davis (Tina) of Bladenboro, Bruce Davis (Stephanie) of Clarkton, daughter Amber Roberts (Brock) of Mt. Olive, brothers Steve Fowler of Old Dock, Tim Fowler (Dottie) of White Lake, sisters Terry Fowler and Tammy Fowler, both of Wilmington, six grandchildren Kimberly Tuton (Jonathan), Jonathan Davis (Michelle), Caitlin Davis, Ethan Davis, David Valenta(fiance Haleigh), and Mallorie Valenta, and one great grandchild Finn Tuton.
Billy was a loving son, brother, husband, father, and grandfather. He was a man of faith that loved the Lord and his church. He enjoyed listening to gospel music especially Michael Combs. He was a foreman at International Paper for many years until his health declined and he retired. The outdoors is where he liked to be preferably hunting or fishing. Billy will always be remembered as a God fearing, hardworking man who did his best to live right and provide well for his family.
The family will receive friends from 12:30 pm to 1:45 pm on Friday, December 22, 2023, at New Light Church in Bladenboro followed by a funeral service at 2:00 pm. The Reverend Dale Hester and the Reverend Bobby Smith will officiate the service. Burial will follow the services at the Salem Cemetery in Clarkton.
