Billy Hester

Billy Houston Hester, 82, of Clarkton went home to be with the Lord on Thursday, December 17, 2020. He reunited with the ones gone on before, his parents, David H. Hester and Bertha Callihan Hester, his loving wife, Cornelia Hester, and four brothers, Stanley, Spencer, A.J. and Fulton Hester. Billy leaves behind several nieces and nephews.

Billy was a hardworking, loving Christian man. He always did his best to please others. He worked at the Bladenboro Cotton Mill and at Harriet Henderson yarn plant until his retirement. At other times, Billy and his wife Cornelia were part time employees with Bladen Gaskins Funeral Home. They enjoyed being around people, sharing their love for the Lord and life in general. After the death of his wife, Billy would still come by the funeral home and sit just to chat for a spell or check to see how everyone was getting along. He always greeted with a smile and a grand sense of humor that will not soon be forgotten.

A graveside service will be held at 11:00 am on Monday, December 21, 2020 at Salem Pentecostal FW Baptist Church Cemetery in Clarkton with Rev. Leroy Wright, and Rev. Bobby Smith officiating.
