Brenda Jordan Todd, 65 of Bladenboro passed away on Wednesday, July 1, 2015. Brenda is preceded in death by her husband Charleston Todd, and her brother Junior Jordan. She was an Abbottsburg native who loved to dance and could dance well! She worked for the Bladen County Recreation Department later making a long life career working for the North Carolina Department of Transportation as a heavy equipment operator and finishing her career of 33.5 as a Construction Supervisor. She was the first female ever hired in Bladen County and also making her way to be the first female hired in the state of NC with the N.C.D.O.T holding those positions. She also held a position as a SECU Board Member before retiring.
The family will receive friends on Friday, July 3rd from 7:00 until 9:00 pm at Bladen-Gaskins Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held on Saturday July 4th at 11:00 am at Abbottsburg Baptist Church with Rev. Boyd Britt, Rev. Gary Strickland and Rev. Larry Cain officiating. Burial will follow in Bladen Memorial Gardens.
She is survived by her son; Shane C.Todd and wife Regina of Bladenboro; her mother Eula Mae Gibson Packer of Bladenboro; brother, Randolph Packer of Greensboro; two grandchildren, Chandolyn Layne Todd and Chason Shane Todd.
