Broadus Hester

Broadus Fred Hester, 89, of Bladenboro passed away Monday, November 9, 2015. He is preceded in death by his parents, Frederick Gordan Hester and Mary Davis Hester; his wife, Mary Thelma Hester; and brother, Ewen Hester. He is survived by his son, Broadus Hester, Jr. of Bladenboro; brothers, Kendrick Hester of Bladenboro and Ernest Hester and wife Ettaree of Bladenboro; and sister, Hilda Coleman and husband Vollie of Bladenboro; and sister-in-law, Vonda Hester.

His entire career was in law enforcement. He served with The Bladenboro Police Department from 1949 - 1951 and then went with The Bladen County Sheriff's Department from 1951 - 1991. His passion was serving Bladen County.

The family will receive friends on Thursday, November 12, 2015 from 1:00 p.m. until 1:45 p.m. at Galeed Baptist Church in Bladenboro, NC. The funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. at Galeed Baptist Church with the Rev. Jason Williams officiating. Burial will follow at Galeed Baptist Church Cemetery.
