Carmen Hackworth

Carmen Suzette Todd Hackworth, age 46 of Ladson, SC, died Monday, September 29, 2014.

Carmen was a loving wife, mother, daughter and sister. Her energetic and bubbly personality made her a joy to be around. She enjoyed life and people. Among her accomplishments was the 1985 Miss America Teen Congeniality Title.

Carmen wanted to acknowledge the special people that made her life worth living, her parents Larry Todd and Linda Todd of Lumberton, her mother Janice Berry of Bladenboro; her loving husband, Greg Hackworth of the home; two beautiful children, Johnathon and Heather Hackworth of the home; a sister, Jana Todd Haynes of Myrtle Beach, SC, a step-brother Jason Todd, Aunt and Uncle James & Debbie Berry, Aunt & Uncle Donald and Anita Berry, Aunt & Uncle Luther Ray and Wanda Berry and two special nieces and a nephew. She will surely be missed by all who knew and loved her.

The family will receive friends Saturday, October 4, 2014 from 12:00 - 12:45 pm at Bladen-Gaskins Funeral Home in Elizabethtown followed by a funeral service at 1:00 pm officiated by Rev. Bobby Smith and Pastor Dale Hester. Burial will follow the service at Lewis Cemetery in Bladenboro.

A reception will follow the service at the Woodmen of the World Building in Bladenboro.
