Carol Ebright Starkloff

Carol Ebright Starkloff, 78, of Elizabethtown passed away on Friday, December 22, 2023 at her home. She was preceded in death by her parents, Elmer Franklin Ebright and Erma Metzger Ebright; husband, John Karl Starkloff; siblings: Henrietta Jerndt, Frank Elbright, Jr., Galen Ebright, Lloyd Ebright and Duane Ebright.

Carol leaves behind her sons: John Starkloff II (Gina Givens), Kyle Starkloff and wife Kelly; brother, Carl Ebright and wife Karen; sisters: Katherine Everhardt, Elaine Damschroder, Norma Corbin; grandchildren: Lauren Isabella Starkloff, Emerson Sophia Starkloff, Kirsten Corinne Starkloff and Kyle Chasen Starkloff.

Carol was a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother. She was an incredibly sweet soul, and a caregiver at heart. She took the best care of her two sons, and also her grandchildren. Carol not only cared for and loved her own family, but as a ‘Lunch Lady’ for more than 20 years, she cared for so many young children as they were working their way through elementary school.

Carol retired as a cafeteria supervisor. After retiring, she and her husband, John Karl Starkloff, moved to North Carolina to be closer to their sons and grandchildren. They thoroughly enjoyed their retirement years living in their little brick home in NC. Carol spent her days riding her bike, cooking big meals for the family, speaking to neighbors, and taking care of her grandkids. She left her family with a host of warm memories that will last a lifetime.

While living in Ohio, Carol faithfully attended Martin Luther Lutheran Church. After moving to North Carolina, she became a member of the Trinity Methodist Church in Elizabethtown, where she will be laid to rest with her husband.

A memorial service is being planned for Carol in her hometown of Toledo, Ohio.
