Carolyn Lee Smith McLean, 71, of Bladenboro went home to be with the Lord on Thursday, May 13, 2021. She was preceded in death by her parents, Joseph Smith and Geraldine Wright Smith, her husband Barden McLean, daughter Angela McLean Love, and two brothers, JT Smith and James Smith. Carolyn leaves behind one daughter, Sheila McLean Willoughby and husband David of Liberty, son-in-law Richie Love of Bladenboro, one sister Joan Britt of Whiteville, and three grandchildren Erin W. Hardin and husband Douglas, Rachel Willoughby, and Colby White.
Carolyn was a loving, Christian woman who adored her family. She was the neighborhood “Mom” that treated everyone as if they were own. She loved to read her bible and attend church. She was a lifelong member of Galeed Baptist Church. Her yard and her home were always kept with such pride. Carolyn enjoyed spending time with her family, watching the classic movies, and tending her flowers. She will be remembered most for her compassionate heart and her beautiful smile that could light up any room.
The family will receive friends from 2-2:45 pm on Sunday, May 16, 2021 at Galeed Baptist Church in Bladenboro. A funeral service will follow at 3:00 pm with Rev. Warren Hill and Dr. Mack Roberts officiating. Burial will follow the services in the church cemetery.
