Carrie Mae Edwards Watson, 90, of Bladenboro, passed away on Monday, April 29, 2019. She was preceded in death by her parents: Harvey and Plumy Edwards; husband: Luther Rufus Watson; siblings: Norman, Nash, Teachey and Richard. Carrie Mae leaves behind one son: Ruford Watson (Jackie) of Bolivia; two daughters: Nancy Pait (Harold) of Bladenboro, Regina Simmons (George) of Kelly; two brothers: Sanford Edwards of Bladenboro, H.J. Edwards (Sylvia) of Lumberton; sister: Ann Willard of Tabor City, sister-in-law: Sarah Edwards of Fayetteville; ten grandchildren; thirteen great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews and a special friend: Shirley Taylor.
Carrie Mae was a compassionate lady who treasured her family and grandchildren. She never met a stranger and just cared for everyone. She loved to play the piano and listen to gospel music. Carrie Mae was well known for making the best biscuits. She enjoyed sewing, gardening and getting dolled up in her makeup and jewelry.
The family will receive friends from 6-8pm on Tuesday, April 30th at Bladen-Gaskins Funeral Home in Elizabethtown. A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, May 1st at 2pm at Sandy Grove Baptist Church in Bladenboro with Rev. Bill Cooper and Rev. James Nobles officiating services. Burial will follow services in the Bryant Edwards Cemetery in Bladenboro.
