Cathey Sue Hall Odom, 68, of Elizabethtown passed away on Sunday, February 11, 2024, at her home. She was born September 12, 1955, the daughter of the late Simon Pete Hall and Bennie Ratley Hall.
Cathey was a devoted sister, wife, mother and grandmother. She graduated in the Class of 1973 from Parkton High School and retired from the Bladen County School System as an administrator. She was a member of the White Lake Baptist Church and served on the White Lake Fire Department. Cathey was the youngest of eight siblings. She was known for her sense of humor and always kept everyone in stitches. She enjoyed family gatherings, taking cruises, and waterskiing. Everyone was always sure to have a great time when Cathey was around.
Cathey is survived by her beloved husband of 50 years, Howard “Frank” Odom Jr. of the home, one daughter, Amber Odom Austin of Elizabethtown, brother Tommy Hall (Marie) of Parkton, sisters Wanda Hall Frush of Elizabethtown, and Connie Hall Williams (Ron) of Grays Creek, and one grandson Bradan Scott Austin. She was preceded in death by her parents, siblings, Jerry Hall, Johnsie Hall, Danny Hall and Pat Hall.
A private service will be held at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be sent to the Lower Cape Fear Lifecare Center or the Alzheimer’s Association.
