Cecile Grimes

Cecile Grimes, 81, of Tar Heel, NC passed away on Thursday, November 7, 2019. She was preceded in death by her parents, Carl Hunt and Lizzie Strickland Hunt, her husband, Thomas Grimes, one son, Tommy Grimes, one daughter, Sebrina Grimes, four sisters and three brothers. Cecile leaves behind two grandchildren, Drew Harris and  Lydia Harris of the home; one son-in-law, Thomas Harris of Elizabethtown; four sisters: Sharmayne Locklear of Pembroke; Lucy Hunt of Laurinburg; Patricia Haigood of Texas; and Elaine Hunt of Maxton;  four sisters-in-law, Janie Grimes, Edna Atkinson (Fred), Louise Tedder (Billy) and Carolyn Moree’ (Mickey).

Cecile was a loving, kind Christian woman with a faith that was unwavering and a heart of gold. She was soft spoken and full of compassion. Her family was her heart, especially her grandchildren.  She was a blessing to everyone she met and will be missed a great deal.

The family will receive friends from 4-6 pm on Saturday, November 9, 2019 at Bladen Gaskins Funeral Home in Elizabethtown. A funeral service is planned for 1 pm on Sunday, November 10, 2019 at Dublin First Baptist Church with Rev. Jason Lee and Rev. Cameron McGill officiating. Burial will follow the services in the Tatum Grimes Cemetery in Tar Heel.
