Charles Lewis

Charles H. Lewis, 75, of Elizabethtown, died Tuesday, January 9, 2007 at New Hanover Regional Medical Center, Wilmington.

Born July 6, 1931 in Bladen County, he was the son of the late Ray and Carrie Lewis.

Mr. Lewis was preceded in death by his brothers, Ray Lewis, Jr. and Franklin Lewis; sister, Audrey L. Lewis, and infant sister, Alice Fay Lewis.

He is survived by his wife, Faye B. Lewis of the home; daughters, Debbi Grosch of Charlotte, Pat Routh of Reidsville, and Shannon Ventura of Elizabethtown; brothers, James Lewis of Elizabethtown, and Glynn Lewis of Live Oak; sisters, Shelby J. Williams of Autryville, and Mary C. McPhatter of Elizabethtown; and five grandsons, Charlie Routh, Jake Routh, Stacy Grosch, Brandon Ventura, and Hector Ventura.

The visitation will be held from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m. Thursday, January 11, 2006 at Wesley's Chapel United Methodist Church, Elizabethtown. The funeral will be held at 11:00 a.m. Friday, January 12, at Wesley's Chapel United Methodist Church with Rev. Rusty Willis and Rev. Eckie Lancaster officiating. The burial will follow at Wesley's Chapel United Methodist Church Cemetery.
