Charlotte \\"Bit\\" Stevens Evans, age 58, of Bladenboro went to be with her Savior in Heaven,on February 17, 2009, after a courageous battle to overcome pancreatic cancer.

\\"Bit\\" grew up 10 miles east of \\"Tabor City in the Old Zion Community and lived in Loris, SC for 19 years before meeting Otis Evans, her husband of 19 years. They resided in Bladenboro for the last 18 years.

She was predeceased by her parents, Joanna Lane Stevens and Ernest Alton Stevens; and a sister Kay Frances Stevens, all of Tabor City, N.C.

\\"Bit\\" is survived by her husband Otis Evans; one daughter, Kristal Trussell of Chapin, SC; one son, Jamey Boyd and his wife Nicole of Loris, S.C.; one grandchild, Katie Trussell of Chapin, SC; two sisters, Jonnie and husband Johnny Sarvis of Murrells Inlet, SC; Cindy and husband Terry Rabon of Tabor City, NC; brother-in-law David and wife Linda Evans of Bladenboro; and brother-in-law Maurice and wife Karen Evans of Bladenboro. She is also survived by her loving nieces and nephews.

\\"Bit\\" was a loving wife, mother, Grammy, sister and aunt and she valued her family more than anything in the world. For years she was afraid to drive to Columbia by herself but when her granddaughter, Katie, came along, she learned to make the trip by herself and spent many happy hours there.

Throughout her life she was admired and loved by those who knew her (from the very young to the very old) due to her genuine concern for others and her caring and compassion. \\"Bit\\" was truly an inspiration to all who knew her and she impacted many with her strong will to live and positive attitude to beat the odds against cancer.

There will be a memorial service celebrating her life Wednesday February 18th at 6 o\\'clock in the evening at Galeed Baptist Church, Bladenboro NC. The family will receive friends immediately after the service in the church parlor. Burial will take place the following morning (Thursday) at 11 AM at the Pinecrest Cemetery, Bladenboro, NC. Memorials may be made to the church of your choice or to www.caringbridge.org .
