Christine Johnson

Christine Johnson, 87, of Bladenboro went home to be with the Lord on Monday, June 14, 2021. She was preceded in death by her father Dellon Edwards and her mother Mattie Odell Edwards, husband Robert Johnson, son Donald Edwards, daughter Karen Johnson, and one sister Edna Brown. She is survived by her son Gary Johnson and wife Dawn of Bladenboro, daughter Barbara Ann Thompson and husband George of Clarkton, four grandchildren, Crystal Floyd and husband Ronnie of Cerro Gordo, Matthew Thompson and wife Amy of White Oak, Adam Johnson, and Jessica Johnson of Bladenboro, and six great grandchildren Isabella Floyd, Ryker Floyd, Rowan Floyd, Hunter McKeithan, Bryson Thompson, and Riley Thompson. She also leaves behind her nieces, Margie Causey, Angie Brown and nephew Earl Brown and wife Pansy, and special friends Bill and Edith Burney, Sherry and Michael Britt and Eartha Pridgen.

Christine was a strong willed, independent lady with a heart of gold. Her heartstrings were her children and grandchildren. She spent her life loving the Lord and cherishing her family. She always put others before herself and never met a stranger. Her smile lit up every room she entered. A light from our home is gone but it shines eternally in heaven.

The family will receive friends from 6-8 pm on Thursday, June 17th at Bladen Gaskins Funeral Home in Elizabethtown. A funeral service will be held on Friday, June 18th at 11:00 am at Bladen Gaskins Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Leroy Wright and Rev. Charlie Tatum officiating. Burial will follow the services in the Old Field Cemetery in Bladenboro.
