Christine Hayes Moody

Christine Hayes Moody, 73, of Elizabethtown passed away on Saturday, September 30, 2023 surrounded by family. She was born in Robeson County on December 6, 1949 to the late Cleaburn Hayes and Sarah Fairfax.

Christine was preceded in death by her parents, one brother Junior Hayes and one grandson, Cody Blackmon. She leaves behind her beloved husband Hal Moody of the home, son Hal Wayne Moody Jr., daughters Christie Merritt (Elvis Blackmon), and Sandy Smith (Jackie Smith), all of Elizabethtown, sister Geraldine Nobles of Cerro Gordo, five grandchildren Tempie Smith, Mercedes Merritt, Christian Moody, Jackson Smith and Katelyn Blackmon, and five great grandchildren Molly Merritt, Maddix Merritt, Joelene Merritt, Kameron Merritt and Jackson Russ.

Christine was a caretaker by nature. She always put the needs of others before her own. She enjoyed looking after other folks and tending her flower garden. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and friend who will be dearly missed.

The family will receive friends from 5-7 pm on Monday, October 2, 2023 at Bladen Gaskins Funeral Home in Elizabethtown. A graveside service will be held at 11:00 am on Tuesday, October 3^rd   in the Bladen Memorial Gardens Cemetery in Elizabethtown with the Reverend Jim Woodruff officiating.
