Mrs.Christine P. Norris, 92, of Elizabethtown, went home to be with the Lord March 13, 2008.
For over 92 years she blessed her family, church, neighbors and friends with her compassion for life.
Ms. Christine was born March 28, 1915, to the late CA Phillips and Ruth Coleman of Lisbon.
One sister, Ruby (Buster) MuCulloch and one brother, Charles (Snoody) Phillips previously passed away. Her sister, Doris Sellers presently lives in Wilmington, N.C.
Having lost her husband, Woodrow early in life, her years were devoted to the rearing of her six children. She worked hard to provide a comfortable home for her family, as well as many children in the community who called her \\"Granny\\". She would tell anyone that her greatest accomplishment was her children; Wilson Norris and Jean of Kenly, N.C., Penny Council of Hope Mills,N.C., Bonnie(daughter) and Val Trask of Myrtle Beach S.C., Gail(daughter) and Stewart Norris of Elizabethtown. She was predeceased by her son, Terry who was married to Daisy Norris, a daughter, Cyntia married to John Charles McClure.
Her greatest joy came from family gatherings where she was surrounded by fourteen grandchildren, Pam, Jeff, Nancy and Danny, Rocky and Becky, Mac and Eddie, Kim and Suzanne, Trip, Erica, Madalyn and Savannah who will remember her lively years . Twenty-four great grandchildren, Shane and Clayton, Jessica, Tristin, Chris, and Brittany, Philip, Drew, and Mathew, McKenzie, Jacob, and Brook, Courtney and Madison, Kayla and Colby, Haleigh and Taylor, Kendall, Morgan, and Sydney, Hannah and Jake, and Emerson who will remember her sweet spirit.... And eight great-great grandchildren,
Gabriel and Katelyn, Mary-Addison, McKenna, and Ashton, Daelyn and Ethan and Kaylee who will only see photos and hear her stories.
A special thanks from the family to members of Whites Creek Baptist Church for their prayers and loving concern. Much gratitude is expressed to her ladies\\' Sunday School Class, as well as her dear friend of many years, Ms Beulah Mae Norris. Ms.Denise Daniel and Marilyn Bryan were also invaluable as her care givers.
Ms. Christine leaves a legacy of faith, love, strength, caring, forgiveness and compassion for all.
