Clyde McRay Carroll

On Monday, December 2, 2024 Clyde McRay Carroll returned home from a short hospital stay at 3 pm to be loved and cared for by his family.

At 10:30 pm the Lord pulled his number and took him to his heavenly home.

Born in Bladen County, he was the son of the late Shelby Duncan Smith and Billy Carroll.

Those left to cherish his memory are his son, Canon Hughes & wife Ashley; brother, Tony "Brub" Smith & wife Rhonda; sisters, Mary "Sis" Gause & husband Johnnie, Lisa Coleman & husband Al; Niece, Keri-Ana Bartley & husband Jordan; nephews, Shane Langley & wife Jaimie, Andrew Dicicco and T.J.Smith; lifelong friend, Timmy "T-Bone" Pate or as McRay would say "my brother from another mother".

McRay loved spending time with his family and friends, fishing with his brother and cooking...cooking on a grill, in a pot, in an oven, even over an open fire.

Some of his best memories were being #5 on the Bladenboro Bulldogs football team. There was no bench time for #5, he was to busy making game saving tackles.

He will be deeply missed and loved forever by all that knew him, and we are comforted knowing that he is now resting without pain in the arms of the Lord.

Funeral arrangements handled by Pine Crest Funeral & Cremation Services.
