Connie Hyatt

Connie C. Hyatt of Abbottsburg passed away on Wednesday, March 16, 2016. She is preceded in death by her father, Belton E. Clark; mother, Thelma Perry Clark and beloved "furbaby" Packy.

Mrs. Hyatt is survived by her husband, Willie(Bill) Ray Hyatt of the home; son, Bill Laverne Hyatt and wife Peaches; grandson, Aaron Hyatt of Abbottsburg, NC. She is also survived by her sister, Barbara Beasley and husband Autry of Tampa, FL and several nieces and nephews. Connie is also survived by brother-in-laws, Richard Hyatt of Old Dock, Ralph Hyatt of Clarkton and sister-in-law, Inez Strickland of Bladenboro, NC, who all considered her a mother figure.

Connie was passionate about life and lived it to the fullest. She married her sweetheart Bill on August 18, 1967 and for the next forty-eight years they shared love, joy and many adventures. She loved to ride motorcycles with her husband and fishing and drag racing with her son. She loved working with the EMS where her co-workers quickly became family and to them she was "Ma". She also loved working with The Bladen County Library and considered her co-workers her family as well.

The family will receive friends on Friday, March 18, 2016 from 6:00 p.m. until 9 p.m. at Bladen-Gaskins Funeral Home in Elizabethtown, NC. The funeral service will be held on Saturday, March 19, 2016 at 5:00 p.m. at Bladen-Gaskins Funeral Home with the Rev. Barry Helms officiating. Burial will follow at Bladen Memorial Gardens in Elizabethtown, NC. The pallbearers from her EMS family will be Donna Cagle, Esther Babson, Patty Luevanous, Elizabeth Christian, Jeanene Green and Stephen Hester.
