Corenia Wood

Mrs. Corenia Watson Wood, 80 of White Oak passed away on August 15, 2010 surrounded by her family and friends. Mrs. Wood was a homemaker, a devoted mother, grandmother and great grandmother. Mrs. Wood was born September 14, 1929 in Tabor City, Columbus County, NC to the late Peter Emanuel Watson and Lula Golden Watson. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, Hannibal Steele Wood; a brother, Henry Pete Watson; two sisters, Marjorie Watson Smith and Lillian Watson Melvin.



She is survived by her three daughters, Shelia Wood Council, husband Mac and daughter Shelia Marie Council Russ and husband Aaron and their child Allister all of White Oak; Rebecca Wood Crowe and husband Jody of Kinston and their daughters Rebecca Amber Crowe Kelley and husband Kevin of Laurinburg and Alison Renee Crowe Wade and husband William and their child Mason of Kinston, and Hannah Sharon Wood of the home; her wonderful, caring friend Reba Kinlaw McLemore; her four step-daughters Georgia Wood Williams of Kings Mountain, Elizabeth Wood Russel and Virginia Wood Hammel of Wilmington and Elaine Wood Unanue of Florida; and one sister, Peggy Watson Atkinson of White Lake.



The family will receive friends on Tuesday, August 17, 2010 prior to the service from 1:00 to 2:00 p.m. at Bladen-Gaskins Funeral Home. The service will begin at 2:00 p.m. officiated by Rev. Leon Warren and Rev. Cameron McGill. Burial will follow at Elizabethtown City Cemetery.
