David Little

David Horace Little, 80, US Air Force Veteran of Siler City, formerly of Clarkton, passed away Thursday, February 23, 2017. David is survived by his wife Peggy Little of the home, two sons: David H. Little Jr. and wife Martha of Wake Forest, Carl Little and fiance Ollivette of Fayetteville, daughter Nancy Kennedy and husband Brantly of Sophia, NC; step-daughters: Regina Price and husband David of Forest City and Penny Mattern and husband Brad of Goldsboro; brothers: Troy Little and wife Mary of Hallsboro; Roy Little and wife Pat of Madison; sisters: Gloria Allard and husband Charles of Apex; Linda Priest and husband James of Lexington, SC; two grandchildren: Jeff and Brittany Stilley, five step-grandchildren: Davie Price, Josh Price, Lacy Price, Jordan Hester and Gage Mattern and four step-great-grandchildren: Zander, Owen, Jackson, and Sophia.

David was born in Sampson County on October 12, 1936 to the late Brooks and Alma Little. At an early age, David and his family moved to Bladen County where he graduated from Clarkton High School in 1955. After high school, David joined the Air Force and in 1957 he met and married his late wife Frances Joye Little. In 1965, David moved back to Clarkton where he went to work at the post office as a clerk until he moved away to Greensboro in 1974. There, he continued to work in the postal service at the bulk mail center until transferring to the Fayetteville Post Office, retiring in 1992. In 1990, he married his loving wife Peggy Smith Faircloth. David loved his family and church. He also loved tinkering in his workshop. He will be missed.

The family will receive friends from 12-1:45pm on Tuesday, February 28, 2017 at Bladen Gaskins Funeral Home in Elizabethtown followed by a funeral service at 2 pm officiated by Rev. Greg Burriss. Burial will follow the services in Peters Creek Baptist Church Cemetery in Roseboro. A memorial service will be held at a later date at David's home church, Rocky River Baptist Church in Siler City, NC.
