Deborah Sue Bass, 69, of Clarkton passed away on Thursday, January 2, 2020. She was preceded in death by her parents, Felix and Annie Ruth Hardgraves, her husbands, Robert Bass Sr. and Pete Bass, one brother, Ted Hardgraves and one sister, Karen Stanley Hendricks. Deborah leaves behind one son, Robbie Bass and wife Wendy of Bladenboro; one brother, John Hardgraves and wife Charlene of Chadbourn; three sisters: Lane Bartley and husband Mike of Whiteville; Jane Ammons and husband Donald of Evergreen; Ann Marlowe and husband Hartford of Clarkton; six grandchildren: Andrew Bass, Angel Bass, Aliyah Turner (Phillip), Harley Jordan, Colin Jordan, and Noah Fennigan and nine great grandchildren.
Deborah was a loving and nurturing lady. She adored her son and grandchildren. Deborah enjoyed spending time making crafts. One of her favorite things to create was Christmas ornaments for each of her grandchildren.
The family will receive friends from 10:00 am to 11:00 am on Saturday, January 4, 2020 at Bladen Gaskins Funeral Home in Elizabethtown. An 11:00 am funeral service will be held in the chapel with Rev. Kenny Nance and Rev. Mark Miller officiating. Burial will follow the services in the Whiteville Memorial Cemetery in Whiteville.
At other times, the family will receive friends at the home of Ann Marlowe, 42 N. Elmhurst Dr. Clarkton, NC 28433.
