Deborah Evans

Debbie Venters Evans, 60, of Elizabethtown passed away Tuesday, June 7, 2016. She is preceded in death by her parents, whom she loved and cared for, Lewis and Lyda Venters Sr. She is survived by her husband Mitch Evans of the home, two sons: Rev. Patrick Murphy and wife Brittany of Burlington and Troy Murphy of Kill Devil Hills; and one brother Lewis A. Venters Jr. and wife Robin of Wilmington.
Debbie had a very unselfish character. She loved her husband and her children with all her heart and always put their needs before her own, including the ones she taught in school. Her strong willpower and conscientious attitude opened up the world to her children and others. She loved her friends and church family, always lending a helping hand when she could. All who knew her, loved her and will miss her a great deal.
The family will receive friends on Thursday, June 9, 2016 from 6-8 pm at Bladen Gaskins Funeral Home in Elizabethtown. Memorial services will be Friday, June 10th at 11 am at Trinity United Methodist Church in Elizabethtown officiated by Rev. Jay Winston. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be sent to Trinity UMC, P.O.
