On Saturday, December 16th surrounded by her family, Dell spoke these words to George: "Our love will never end!"
Dell was a wonderful wife, mother and homemaker for many years while her children were younger. She worked at the Elizabethtown Baptist Church Day School for several years and then later retired from the Bladen County Tax office. She was an active member of the Elizabethtown Baptist Church until her lung illness. Dell was a member of the Circle Sunday School Class and served on various committees. She loved her church and was proud to be a part of the Elizabethtown Baptist Church congregation.
Dell enjoyed caring for others before herself. She loved her family, neighbors and her friends. Her husband, children and especially her grandchildren added a special sparkle to her eyes.
The family will receive friends from 10-11 am on Saturday, December 23rd at the Elizabethtown Baptist Church Fellowship Hall. A celebration of her life will be held at 11 am in the church sanctuary with Rev. Chris Carroll, Dr. David Elks, and Dr. Michael Cogdell officiating. Burial will follow the services in the Elizabethtown City Cemetery.
