Dennis Mclean

Dennis Elmon McLean, 76, U.S. Navy Veteran of Council passed away on Sunday, June 27, 2021. He was preceded in death by his parents, Talmadge McLean and Retha West McLean, one brother Melvin Eugene McLean, and two nephews, Sidney Eugene Elkins Jr. and Jeffrey Melvin McLean. Dennis is survived by his son, Will McLean of Roanoke, VA, three daughters: Heather McLean of Memphis, TN, Shamiah of Indiana, and Julie of Greenville, SC, three sisters, Brenda Chalmers (David) of Wilmington, Wanda McDuffie (Rudy) of Council, and Sharon McLean West of the home and four grandchildren.

Dennis loved his family and his country. While serving in the U. S. Navy, he traveled the world. He volunteered to spend a year in Vietnam, skied Mt. Etna, and went to the top of the Eiffel Tower. When not traveling, Dennis loved to deer hunt. He will be missed.

A graveside service will be held on Wednesday, June 30, 2021, at 11:00 am in the West Family Cemetery, off Snake Rd in Lumberton.
