Dennis Meshaw

Dennis Walter Meshaw, 60, of Elizabethtown passed away Monday February 20, 2017 with his family by his side. He is survived by his loving wife of 41 and a half years, Sarah McLaughlin Meshaw of the home, his beloved dog Eve, children: Amanda Fuller and husband Chris of Smithfield, NC; Amy Munn and husband Robert of Ammon, NC; Brittany Meshaw and fiancé Joey Heverly of Chesapeake, VA; Dennis (DJ) W. Meshaw Jr. and wife Alexis Garcia-Meshaw of Greenville, NC; former son-in-law Ryan Lamb of Indiana, mother Sylvia Bigford Meshaw of Elizabethtown, NC; brother Kenneth Meshaw and wife Charlene of Wallace, NC; sister Cathy Meshaw Priest of Clinton, NC; six grandchildren: Caitlin and Luka Lamb, Lane Meshaw, Hayden Munn, Calvin and Logan Hamilton, two step-grandchildren: Maddy and Declyn Fuller .
Dennis is preceded in death by his father Henry B. Meshaw, brother Danny E. Meshaw and sister Deborah M. McCall.
He was born to Sylvia Bigford Meshaw and the late Henry Barney Meshaw on August 23, 1956. Dennis graduated from East Bladen High School in 1974. He has worked with Pridgen Brothers Contractors for over 33 years. He married the love of his life Sarah McLaughlin Meshaw on August 22, 1975 and they made a life together in Elizabethtown, NC.
Dennis was an avid sports fan. He had a love and passion for all sports but his lifelong favorite was watching Carolina beat Duke. Dennis also loved and enjoyed coaching his son , daughters and grandchildren's sports teams. He will be missed by all those who knew and loved him.
The family will receive friends from 7-9 pm on Friday, February 24th at Bladen Gaskins Funeral Home in Elizabethtown. A funeral service will be Saturday, February 25th at 2 pm at Center Road Baptist Church in Bladenboro officiated by Rev. Mickey McLaughlin, Rev. Neil Smith, and Rev. Dewayne Lambert. Burial will follow the services in Singletary Cemetery in Butters.
