Livingston passed away on June 5, 2017, on the Roberts family farm where he was born on February 4, 1929. After growing up on his father's farm and a short stint in the army, Livingston graduated from the National School of Commerce in Charlotte. He began work as a land surveyor and then worked for the U.S. Department of Agriculture for over 30 years. He served as the chairman of the NC ASCS committee and Bladen County ASCS (FSA) office manager. Livingston was dedicated to serving North Carolina farmers. He enjoyed farming and spent many happy days deer hunting.
Livingston was predeceased by his parents, Starslie Dewey and Addie Dowless Roberts; three infant sisters; two other sisters - Leatrice Meshaw and Annie Grace Bryan; and a son-in-law, Johnny A. Lewis.
He is survived by his wife of 63 years, Frankie Davis Roberts; son, Dewey Livingston Roberts, Jr. of Fayetteville; two daughters - Jan Lewis of Bladenboro and Julia Kaye Wilson (Douglas) of Dunn; brother, Dr. Mack Roberts (Ella Rae) of Bladenboro and a sister, Judy Dean (Joe) of Southport. Livingston enjoyed his three grandsons, Matt Lewis (Sylvia), Martin Roberts Wilson, and Samuel Wilson (Abigail). He also had three grand-daughters, Haley and Georgia Grace Lewis, and Sophia Faith Wilson; many nieces and nephews.
Livingston was always a kind and pleasant man and will be greatly missed.
The family will receive friends from 10-11:30 am on Thursday, June 8, 2017 at Bethel Baptist Church in Dublin followed by a funeral service at 11:30 am with Rev. Thomas McCuddy and Rev. Warren Hill officiating. Burial will follow the services in the Archibald Roberts Cemetery.
