Doris Allen

Doris Ann Beard Allen, 78, of Tar Heel went to join her Savior July 18, 2012. Mrs. Allen died in her home surrounded by her devoted husband, loving family and dear friends.



Doris was born September 27, 1933 to the late Lymon and Annie Jackson Beard of the Bladen Union Community . She married her true love, Gurney, on May 29, 1952 in Dillon, SC.



Doris was a faithful member of Tar Heel Baptist Church and spent many years sharing her beautiful voice and other God-given talents. She was the epitome of a gracious host, loving mother, devoted wife and Christian lady.



Doris was preceded in death by her precious grandson Luke. She is survived by three sons, Jeff and wife Teresa of Tar Heel, Fletcher and wife Pegi of Tar Heel, Mark and wife Teal of Dublin; one daughter, Jill of Elizabethtown; seven grandchildren, Jeffrey, Renee, Lindsey, Nicki, Gunner, Leigh Ann, J.R., Tony and C.J.; and four great-grandchildren, Sarah, Chloe, Colton, and Charlotte.



The family will receive friends on Saturday, July 21, 2012 from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. at Bladen-Gaskins Funeral Home. Services and internment will be held Sunday, July 22, 2012 at 3:00 p.m. at Tar Heel Baptist Church.
