Doris Ann Cain Callihan, 79, of Bladenboro entered into eternal rest on Saturday, May 8, 2021. She was preceded in death by her parents, Homer Cain and Nancy Tyler Cain, her husband, Vance Callihan, two sisters, Carrie Mae Priest and Faye Tickle, two brothers, Billy and Jerry Cain, one son, James Blackwell, one granddaughter Deborah Ann Long and one great grandson, Riley Russ. She leaves behind three daughters, Sondra Jones of Fayetteville, JoAnn Guyton of Nakina, and Beverly Blackwell of Bladenboro, one brother Bobby Cain of Bladenboro, two sisters, Brenda Willoughby Watson of Bladenboro, and Margie Todd of Bladenboro, 10 grandchildren: Nancy, Michael, Anthony, Brooks, Heather, Ashley, Brandon, Crystal, Danielle, and Kasey, 13 great grandchildren and four great-great grandchildren.
Doris loved her family, especially her grandchildren. She enjoyed cooking and you could always expect fried chicken, butterbeans, rice with tomatoes, and homemade biscuits on the Sunday table. She loved to go to church, listen to Conway Twitty and Christmas time. To make her smile, just simply give her a Pepsi, some orange slices, and time with her family. Her loving heart and gentle nature will be eternally missed.
The family will receive friends from 6-8 pm on Wednesday, May 12, 2021 at the Bladenboro Bladen Gaskins Chapel in Bladenboro. A funeral service will be held at 4:00 pm on Thursday, May 13, 2021 in the Bladenboro Bladen Gaskins Chapel with David Willoughby officiating. Burial will follow the services in the Salem Cemetery in Clarkton.
