Edgar Bowen

Edgar Charles "Charlie" Bowen Jr., age 59, of Bladenboro passed away Monday, May 21, 2018. He is preceded in death by his father, Edgar Charles Bowen. Charlie leaves behind his mother: Uldean Shaw Bowen of Bladenboro, one sister Becky Campbell of Bladenboro, nephew: Heath Campbell of Raleigh, one uncle: Kendrick Hester, one aunt Betty Bowen and many cousins.

Charlie was a gifted man with a great sense of humor and a smile for everyone he met. He was passionate about life, nature and doing for others. Charlie retired early from his love of teaching to care for his parents. Whenever anyone asked Charlie what he did for fun, he would reply "Going to church and playing the piano." His dedication to God was first in his life. Charlie was one of kind, always lending a helping hand where he could and making people laugh. He will always be remembered by all those that had the privilege of knowing him.

A funeral service will be held at 5 pm on Wednesday, May 23rd at Zion Hill Baptist Church in Bladenboro. The family will receive friends following the service. Burial will be held on Thursday, May 24, 2018 at 10:00 am in Hickory Grove Baptist Church Cemetery.
