Elizabeth Glasgow Wilson, 94, of Elizabethtown passed away Saturday, April 30, 2022. She was preceded in death by her parents, Hayward Lawrence and Lillian Pepper Glasgow; son, George H. Wilson; daughter, Mary W. Merritt; brother, James E. Glasgow; sisters: Alice McKenzie, Francis Phares, and Amelia G. Dietz.
Elizabeth leaves behind a son, Joe C. Wilson of Kinston; sister, Jane G. Bhenken of Belleair Bluffs, Florida; nine grandchildren: Samantha, Billy, Donnie, Amanda, Vicki, Benji, Jeffrey, Nicole, Emily; eighteen great-grandchildren and three great, great-grandchildren.
Elizabeth loved her family and was very devoted to them. She was an educator in the Bladen County School system for 40 years. She was dedicated to the Lord and had a solid faith as a member of Elizabethtown Baptist Church for over 50 years. Elizabeth spent a great amount of her time, close to 30 years, volunteering at the hospital. She was a member with Woodmen of the World and was treasurer for some of her time there. Elizabeth was a kindhearted person that would help in any way she could. Her sweet spirit will be missed by all who loved her.
The family will receive friends from 6-8pm on Tuesday, May 3rd at Bladen-Gaskins Funeral Home in Elizabethtown. A funeral service will be held at 11am on Wednesday, May 4th at Elizabethtown Baptist Church with Rev. Rudy Ramphal officiating. Burial will follow in the Bladen Memorial Gardens in Elizabethtown.
