Elsie Priest

Elsie Marie Clark Priest, 72, of Clarkton passed away on Friday, July 23, 2021 peacefully at UNC Health Southeastern Hospital with her family by her side. She was preceded in death by her parents, Charlie and Lillian Clark and sister, Nancy Jo Clark.

Elsie leaves behind her husband of 8 years, Kerry Lee Priest of the home; two sons: Heath Hair (Christina “Chris”) of Apex, Kory Hair (Jennifer) of Elizabethtown; four grandchildren: Haley, Emma, Jaxon, Jayce Hair. She also leaves behind four stepchildren: Renita Kaczkowsky (Ron), Melanie Hester (David), Stephen Priest (Kim), and Barry Priest (Allison); five step-grandchildren: Stephanie Bryan (Michael), Allison Strickland (Ricky), Amanda Sullivan (Kelly), Kirsten Priest, Taylor Priest, Jacob Priest, Karli Priest; six great step-grandchildren: Haley and Ashton Bryan, Katie and Joshua Strickland, Madison and Gunner Sullivan.

Elsie worked the majority of her life in the manufacturing industry as an office manager. She was well respected by her peers in the industry and made positive impacts on the people she worked with on a daily basis.  She was always willing to do whatever she needed to do to get the job done.  She enjoyed part time sales jobs after hours because it gave her a way to meet new people and making friends was something she loved.  Elsie was a loving wife, mother, and an awesome grandmother.  Her grandkids were the apple of her eye, and she will be greatly missed.

The family will receive friends from 1:30pm-2:45pm on Monday, July 26th in the Elizabethtown Baptist Church Fellowship Hall. A funeral service will be held at 3pm in the church sanctuary with Rev. Rudy Ramphal officiating. Burial will follow services in the Clarkton Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Elizabethtown Baptist Church or the charity of your choice.
